Jodi tagged me to do this. You would think after 2+ years of blogging, she would know how boring I truly am. I appreciate the shout out anyway! So, here we go....
- Post these rules
- You must post 11 random things about yourself
- Answer the questions set for you in the post you were tagged in
- Create 11 new questions for your tagees to answer
- Tag them on Twitter, Facebook or your blog
- I've posted about it before, but I was born with Heart Disease. It's my most "interesting" fact really, if you can call it that.
- I am OBSESSED with organization, spreadsheets, revamping processes, etc. I don't mean just a little, I mean full on obsessed. Like, it's my passion obsessed. Everybody that I work with, and Christian, has told me that I should start up some kind of organization or planning business. Hmmmm....maybe some day.
- I have two kids, two girls, 18 months apart, who could not be more opposite from each other. From the way they entered the world, to every aspect of their current personalities. Oh the adventures I see in our future.
- My husband is the only REAL relationship I have ever had. I was 18, just graduated, when we met, and he was just going into his Junior year of high school. I had not been interested in being in an actual relationship while I was in school, so basically, it was perfect timing.
- I was a total band geek in school. I started playing the flute in 6th grade, and played through Junior year. My Senior year, we had literally NO brass section in our band, so I offered to teach myself how to play the Baritone. I sat in a practice room, every day, all class, for two months teaching myself before our first "concert", and I rocked it. I ended school being able to play the flute and baritone/tuba, along with a little piano, clarinet and trumpet. What I REALLY always wanted to play was the drums, but all of the boys made fun of me so I didn't pursue it.
- In addition to that nerdiness, I was a school geek all around. I loved school - and I mean the actual school part. Math was by far my favorite class, I LOVED the satisfaction of figuring out a really hard, long, drawn out trig problem. English was a really close second...I liked writing reports and piecing all of the different english aspects together. While I hated it, I stuck with Spanish all through school, ending in Spanish 5. The one thing I never got into was science, which is weird, because I bet I would have LOVED it. I graduated on the A Honor Roll, in the Top 20% of my class. Go me!
- To balance out my complete geeky facade, I was a jock to top it off. Softball/Fastpitch was my thing, from a little t-baller chasing the ball around in a mob of kids, to Varsity Fastpitch in High School (even as a Freshman, I joined the Varsity team for tournaments), it's the one thing I stuck with all through school. I played Volleyball from 6th-10th grade, and was actually surprisingly good for being pretty short. I tried out soccer and basketball...I enjoyed soccer, but choose Volleyball over it in High School, hated basketball.
- Christian and I have never been on a REAL vacation together. We've gone "up north" on long weekends a couple of times, and on a road trip to Utah YEARS ago to visit his high school BFF, but other than that, no true vacations. One can dream, right.
- When we decided to buy a house, we went on ONE home tour with our Realtor. We saw 11 houses, and that was it. We did go back to see two of the houses, and ended up buying one of those two. I hated the entire process of buying a house, and it did not excite me at all. I am SO grateful we found the perfect one on our first time out.
- I had perfect 20/20 vision my entire life, until I was about 20 and the rapid decline started. Now, they suck, and are getting worse at a VERY fast pace.
- I have never had stitches (other than my c-section staples, which I don't count), a broken bone, braces or anything of the like.
- What is your favourite way to waste time without getting caught!!? OMG, I am a facebook addict. I sneak on ALL DAY LONG at work. Oops.
- What was the first really *big* concert you went to? I have only ever been to 3 "concerts" and they were all very different. The first, was to see Fergie at our state fair. Outdoors, small crowd, medium intimacy and a REALLY good show. Next, Taylor Swift (I won tickets from a radio station)...huge production, huge stadium, huge crowd, amazing concert. Finally, Andy Grammar & Colbie Caillat, front row, in what's called a "sky room performance"...basically a small room, with maybe 50 people, watching them perform acoustically. It was beyond cool.
- Biggest regret in life? Gosh, I have a few, for different reasons. I suppose my BIGGEST, would be not going to college. I had everything it took to go, loved school and did have a desire, but my refusal to take on student loans definitely held me back.
- And the inverse... proudest moment? DEFINITELY my successful VBAC with Amelia. No question. From the second I had my c-section with Olivia, I knew I would NEVER do that again, and fought my way to a VBAC. It was the most amazing feeling of success in the world.
- If you could ask President Obama one question - what would it be? Wow, I'm honestly drawing a blank on this. I even left it, and came back. I will admit, I am not as into politics as I should be. I wish I could get more into it and really invest time in it. I am not republican, and I am not a democrat. In fact, I HATE to hear anyone define themselves as one or the other, because I think people are truly limiting themselves by closing that door. I am definitely independent, maybe leaning slightly to the conservative side. In any event, I am not an Obama supporter. I do not think he had the credentials whatsoever for office, and no solid proof of his claimed stances on issues. But, he is the President, and I have the upmost respect for that. He seems like an incredibly genuine person, and I think I would love to just sit down and TALK to him. Not necessarily with anything particular in mind...he just seems like a really interesting person, I'd like to know more about him as a person really.
- Sweets or Salt? Salty, for sure.
- First or oldest childhood friend... are you still in contact with him or her? I had two best friends in grade school, Ashley and Christina. I am friends with both of them on facebook and actually interact with them a decent amount.
- What do people love best about you? I'm honestly not sure. I would love to know that actually! I think I'm pretty funny - I come off kind of cold and not necessarily friendly, but once you get to know me, you learn that it's just part of my personality.
- What is the coolest or most profound thing that has happened to you in the last 4 months? Definitely paying off our Truck Loan. That loan was a BEAST, and it was our first, and biggest move towards being debt free. It meant so much to us.
- What do you need more of right now? Time. Plain and simple, I need more time. More specifically, more time at home! We've basically come to the realization that we need to just "let the house go" during the week. It's very hard for me to do, but it's the only thing that saves our sanity and allows us some family time.
- What's a hobby you've always wanted to try? I love photography so much, and I would love to make it a real, true hobby - as in, take classes, invest in a "real" camera, etc. Something BRAND new that I'm not currently into, I would say knitting/crocheting. It seems really relaxing and I think I would really like it.
I am going to be completely lame, and skip this section. In all honesty, I have no idea who actually reads my blog period, let alone other bloggers. I suck.
:) I am glad you decided to do this - it's nice to learn more about you!!
