2015 - Week 23

Well, here we go, another busy week!  On Monday, we didn’t have a sitter for Eliza, so Christian stayed home with her. I was super jealous…it’s hard enough leaving her every day, but I don’t like when he’s the one who gets to stay home with her! “Luckily”, he had a pretty rough, exhausting day. Sorry not sorry, it’s nice when he can see what life is really like! I picked the big girls up after work and we stopped home to get ready for ball. Then, finally, a late dinner, some baths and everybody was off to bed.

Daddy teased me with a picture of my baby at breakfast.

Softball Night

Tuesday started off pretty normal. Everyone was off to their appropriate place for the day...work, daycare, school. I settled into work, had a meeting, then almost immediately got a call from daycare. Eliza had been throwing up, and needed to be picked up. So, I quick finished up some stuff, and made my way back to pick her up. She seemed pretty exhausted when I got her – they said one of the times she threw up was when she was sleeping, so she was just worn out and not feeling well at all. She passed out almost immediately when we got home. I ate some lunch and got in a few hours of work. She was definitely tired…I finally  had to wake her up to leave. She seemed to be doing just fine when I woke her up, so hopefully she’s on the mend. We stopped at the UPS Store to return the couch covers we’d bought, we picked the big girls up from daycare, and then stopped to meet up with Amelia’s baseball team for her team pictures. My little pro, she did great! Finally, we met up with Christian back at home and settled in for the night. The girls swam for a while with their BFF Bella, we had dinner and just relaxed, hung out…had a quiet evening. I started watching the last season of Pretty Little Liars tonight – FINALLY on Netflix. Yes, I’m a teenage girl, still in love with PLL. I’m excited because the new season will finally be on Hulu again. Woot! I received an e-mail today from the mom of one of Olivia’s friends from school – who also plays on her softball team, inviting her to her birthday party. Olivia is so excited…but, this little girl has a twin brother…so, obviously it’s a joint party. And, now I’m all confused on what I should do. She made it clear that Olivia was being invited by the little girl, but can I really show up without a gift for him too? Oh boy, decisions, decisions! We ended the evening with quite the funny from Olivia…we were just sitting around, hanging out, when Olivia – serious as can be, looks at Christian and says “Daddy, am I made out of Mexican?”. Haha, we could not stop laughing. It’s so funny the things they come up with – the way they think.

Swim Time!!

Wednesday was a rainy, gloomy day. It was gray and dark and rained all day long. Makes for a sleepy, sleepy day! Christian brought the big girls to daycare while I stayed home with Eliza. Because of her throwing up yesterday, she had to stay out for 24 hours. She was doing really well last night, slept good, ate a little bit this morning and had a bottle. After a good nap, I brought her to daycare. Once back home, I put in a few hours of work – trying to preserve as much leave time as I can. I did some cleaning up around the house before picking the girls up from daycare. Christian met us there, and we split up and took the girls to ball. FINALLY, we all settled in at home…had some dinner, played for a while, the usual. I spent most the day catching up on PLL – I’ll be done with this season in no time!

On Thursday, I was back to work. Everybody seems to be happy and healthy and right as rain. I had a crazy, busy day catching up at work. I say it pretty much every week, but I’m so overwhelmed at work. My box is just constantly overflowing, I cannot get my head above water. With my week off coming fast, it’s just going to get worse. I just don’t even know what to do anymore. Christian received a Menard’s gift card from work for doing some deliveries last week, which is pretty cool. That will definitely come in handy with some stuff around the house. I picked the girls up after work and we made our way home. The big girls played downstairs, while Eliza was super clingy all night long. I had to wait for Christian to get home to make dinner, so we ate pretty late. While I was out checking the gardens, I noticed a big hold in the fence…two of the posts had come loose, so there was a huge gap…thankfully Chuy didn’t find it first! So, after dinner, Christian fixed that and cut the grass. Meanwhile, one by one I got the girls to bed and cleaned up. Olivia had a pretty exciting day at school – she got recognized in a little program at school for her Jump Rope for Heart fundraising a couple months ago – she was one of the top fundraisers and got a little pin. So cute, she was pretty proud AND, she lost another tooth today. Pulled it right out this morning. So crazy!

Finally Friday…FINALLY! Never soon enough. It was Olivia’s last day of school. Last day of Kindergarten. I can’t believe how fast this year went, and how much she’s grown. She can ready, her writing is so wonderful, she works really hard at spelling, her math skills are getting better and better. She just amazes me. I got her report card and she’s officially passed onto 1st Grade. So dang proud. She came home today with more paper than I’ve ever seen in my life and so excited over all of the fun stuff they did all day – following the school’s facebook page, they had quite a day of celebration. She was pretty upset that she wouldn’t be seeing her teachers anymore , which made me pretty sad for her, but I know she’ll have a blast with all of her friends at daycare this summer. It’s hard to believe we’ll have another heading off to kindergarten in a few months. And, speaking of that a one…Amelia has been a terror at school lately. She has been getting in trouble, getting written up , CONSTANTLY! I’m so frustrated with her, and I’m worried about how she’s going to do this summer with the more lax summer curriculum…and more kids. I hope it’s just a little phase, and she can get it out of control. I was really hoping she’d move up to the schoolage room for the summer…but, apparently they have too many kids for the summer, so she can’t. It upsets me a little…I think the kids that are already at the center should get first option at moving up, before they take in new kids, but that’s the “business” side of things I guess. Hopefully she’ll calm down a little and start behaving. Meanwhile, Eliza is a total walking machine now! I cannot believe in the last month she’s gone from just plain old crawling and a little cruising, to not only full on walking – but she even stands herself up! WOWZA, growing up way too fast, all of them! Outside of their chaos and milestones, it was a pretty standard day. I picked the girls up after work and we made our way home to hang out and wait for Christian to get home. We had dinner, watched some shows, played for a while. Had a pretty quiet night. The night ended with another funny…every night, we put the girls to bed, while I give Eliza her bottle and get her to sleep. Every night, as I walk down the hallway to bring Eliza into their room, I can hear the other two laughing and giggling, talking away. As I grab the doorknob, I usually hear one of them whisper “shhhh, she’s coming!” Usually they pretend like they’re asleep, I tell them to be quiet because baby is asleep, they realize they’ve been caught and they go to sleep. Tonight when I opened the door, Olivia rolled over and pretended to be asleep, but Amelia hopped out of bed, looked at me stunned and serious as could be asked me “Mom, where’s my pants?!” I almost died laughing – I mean, she went to bed with pants on, so what the heck happened is beyond me. Seriously, they just crack me up.

Here's to Kindergarten!

Love This Squishy Baby

Saturday was a super busy day. Christian was off to work. I was up early to shower and get ready before the girls woke up. First up, the girls and I were all off to swim class. Today was the last class of this session (they start up right away again next week though). Amelia still isn’t really swimming, or learning, but she’s getting more and more comfortable, and, for the most part, listening better as time goes on. She should be there soon. Olivia is doing great in her intermediate class, and she even got to jump off of the diving board today!!! Oh my gosh, she was so dang excited, and I was so proud. It’s been so hard to deal with Eliza at swim classes. I have to bring a stroller with to keep her contained, or she’s just all over the place, and I can’t even pay attention to the girls. The school where they swim doesn’t have an elevator, so I have to carry her and the stroller upstairs to watch class, then back down after. It’s always so hot, like a dang sauna, so we both just sweat. It’s exhausting, and I’m not sure how much longer I can do it. They usually take Sunday classes in the fall because of soccer – I might have to look into just doing that all of the time until Eliza is a little older so that Christian can be there to help. After class, I got the girls showered and cleaned up. We stopped home for a quick lunch, then loaded back up into the van…we were off to the salon for the girls’ haircuts and surprise nail appointments. We arrived at the salon, and when I went to get Eliza out of her carseat I found that she had thrown up all over herself. Her clothes, her chair, everywhere. We were already running late, so I was stressed out. I quick got her out of her clothes and into the stroller, did a quick clean up of her chair and husstled everybody into the salon. Once the girls were settled in for their nail appointments, I finished cleaning up Eliza and got her dressed. I don’t know why she keeps randomly throwing up like this all of the time. It’s so frustrating. Luckily, she was perfectly fine the rest of the day. The big girls loved getting their nails done, and laughed like crazy when they got their pedicures. It was too cute…they were so happy and excited, it was definitely worth the money. Next up, was haircuts. It was time to chop, chop, chop their hair off. It had been over two years since Olivia’s hair was cut, and quite a while for Amelia as well, so they were in for some drastic changes. Amelia didn’t really seem to care, but Olivia was a little upset about cutting her hair. She got over it pretty quickly, and hers was long enough to donate – after I explained that to her, she thought it was pretty cool. So, they look like brand new girls, it’s so crazy how different they look with a new haircut! After we checked out, I finished cleaning up Eliza’s chair the best that I could, loaded them into the van and we made our way back home. Christian took Eliza’s chairs out of our vehicles so we could wash the seat covers and clean them out good, and Olivia and I were off on our next adventure. Tonight was the twins’ birthday party she was invited to earlier this week. I did end up just getting her a gift, but I got her some fun outdoor toy kind of stuff, and spent a little more than I usually would, so it was more of a gift for both of them. It turned out they had invited some mutual friends and then each got to invite a few individual friends – and Olivia was the only one to show up for her friend, so I’m so glad we were able to make it. The party was at a local place called “Grand Slam”…they have arcade games, bumper cars, laser tag, mini-gold, batting cages…there is a TON of stuff to do, but there is also a TON of people there, and it was completely chaotic. There seemed to be a million birthday parties going on, and it was quite overwhelming. But, the kids had a great time, and that’s all that really matters. After some playing, gift opening, dinner and cake, we were on our way home. We got home around 6:00 and I felt like we’re been running around for days. I was beyond exhausted. BEYOND! Luckily Eliza didn’t have any more issues, so, like usual, we have no idea what was going on with her. The big girls played outside with Christian for a while, and were off to bed a little earlier than usual…as was I. What a day!

Swim Session, Done!

Getting Pampered!

Birthday Party Fun!

Thankfully, after yesterday’s chaos, today was a very low key day. No plans, no running around. We did some of our usual chores around the house…laundry, cleaned up the kitchen, picked up the living room. Overall, we just hung out and relaxed. MUCH needed for all of us. Today’s big even was Eliza turning 13 months old! I can’t believe it’s already been a month since we celebrated her birthday. Seriously, time just needs to slooooooow down! I didn’t take any measurements of her this month, completely slipped my mind, but I’d guess she’s around 25.5lbs and 29.5” based on history. As I mentioned earlier this week…she’s walking like a pro and she’s standing herself up. Her personality shines through more and more every day, she’s really coming into her own (and, I think she’s going to be quite a handful!). She’s still clingy and dramatic, but really, it’s party of her charm! Growing up, way too fast! And now we’re really in trouble with a super mobile baby, that’s for sure! Other than that, we were just dreading that fact that Sunday was ticking away, and Monday was knocking on the door. Like every week. However, I was heading into a 4-day week, then 10 days of vacation (9 for Christian), and that is pretty dang exciting!

Until Next Week! XOXO

2015 - Week 22

Monday kicked off a nice, short week with a Holiday, Memorial Day! I started the day off doing some laundry, picking up the basement a little bit and cleaned the kitchen/did dishes. Christian cleaned the entry and fixed our leaking sink. Luckily, the girls played downstairs most of the morning, actually getting along, and Eliza was on her best behavior, Including taking a super long nap, so we were actually able to get a ton of stuff done. Finally, Christian and I showered and got ready for the day. I made a pasta salad, and his family and friend Lorenzo came over to have a BBQ. The weather ended up being amazing, the perfect day to spend outside. The girls’ BFF and her parents came over to hang out for a while, and I even indulged in a couple of margaritas. What a fun way to kick off the week! One by one, everybody started to head home. It was late, but the girls were dirty and gross and needed a quick bath before bed. I had a really hard time falling asleep, so I knew it was going to rough day, but at least it was a short week!

Flashback to last Memorial Day - she's grown, but she's still super clingy!

Some Memorial Day Fun!

Tuesday, as predicted, was a rough morning. Exhausted!!! As if the late night wasn’t enough, Eliza decided to wake up SUPER early this morning…she was upset, warm, crabby. I checked her temperature and it was normal, so we weren’t sure what was going on. Hopefully it’s just teething, which I hate. Ugh! We were finally off to work, school/daycare and I was ready for a nap by the time I got there! I had a pretty hectic day, including making a million appointments…I FINALLY made myself a hair appointment – treating myself for my birthday with my bi-annual haircut, made hair/nail appointments for the girls – they need some fresh new cuts, and I’m surprising them with some mani/pedi’s for the “end of the year” , my dentist appointment, the girls’ dentist appointments, Amelia’s 5-year check-up, Eliza’s 15 month check-up and Chuy’s check-up. Whew, who knew making appointments could be so tiring. Seriously, it’s too much to think about. Christian was pretty work out himself, and actually left work early to go home and rest. He NEVER does that, so you know he was beat. Rain hit shortly before I left for the day, so traffic home was terrible, TERRIBLE! Why doesn’t anybody move when it’s driving?! I tried to take some back roads out of the city, and construction was horrible, so I got all mixed up in that chaos. I was just a hot mess trying to get home. I FINALLY got to daycare, grabbed the girls, and we made our way home. Eliza was crabby…tired, she wouldn’t eat, I seriously hope she’s not getting sick. The big girls played downstairs for a while, while Christian made dinner and I cuddled baby…we ate, relaxed and everybody was off to bed. Hoping for a more peaceful night…and actually feeling like I’m awake tomorrow!

On Wednesday, we were all still pretty exhausted. Eliza slept much better, thankfully, but still had a rough morning. It didn’t help that Christian had to start work early today. She seemed to perk up quite a bit once we got to daycare though….she’s been crawling right over to her teacher at drop-off lately, getting in some extra cuddles before the day starts. I had a pretty low-key day at work, busy but quiet. Then a super chaotic evening. Traffic home was terrible again – it took forever to get home, and it’s so frustrating. I stopped home to get the dog out…and he proceeded to escape and run away while I was getting some snacks for the girls together. Pretty much the last thing I needed to deal with. Being a ball night, I did NOT have time to roam around town with him, so I was on my way to daycare to pick the girls up and get them changed, when I happened to drive by him, hanging out at somebody house down the road. UGH! So, back home to drop him off, then off to daycare. I gathered up the girls, and had them change in the bathroom. Christian met us there and left with Olivia, while Eliza and I were off to watch Amelia. Then, realized we had left Amelia’s hat at daycare. Ay, I’d forget my head most days if it wasn’t attached, that’s for sure. Finally, we settled in. Amelia did really well tonight. She got one really good hit and stopped a couple of grounders. She’s still letting the boys run the show, so she needs to toughen up a little bit. Olivia didn’t get any hits tonight, so we definitely need to work on that, but she got to play catcher and thought that was super cool. I’m so bummed that I missed it! The weather was amazing tonight…so, regardless of all other stresses and chaos, that was a silver lining. Christian grabbed some dinner on his way home and we all settled in. That is, until I realized we were out of bottle liners. We’re thisclose to being done with the bottle, but not quite there yet, so off to Walmart I went. So not what I needed. However…I did have a pretty cute encounter while there. I was cutting through the feminine hygiene section, when a confused looking man stopped me. He seemed to panicked and confused, and finally asked me if I happened to know where he could find nursing pads, and that the employee had sent him there. I wasn’t familiar with Walmart’s stuff, but I guided him over to the baby feeding section as a more likely option, and sure enough, we found him. He was so grateful – it was just cute! I don’t know that I could ever send Christian out for anything in that realm.

Thursday was all around a pretty quiet day, which was much welcomed. The office at work was pretty quiet, so that made for a low-key day.  I was able to get a ton of work done, which is extra great heading into the long weekend. I picked up the girls after work, and we settled in at home. Christian mowed the lawn quickly right when he got home, getting it all cleaned up before the rain hits tomorrow. Then, it was just dinner and some quiet time before bed. Not too shabby!

My Throwback this week - with Amelia graduating Pre-K tomorrow, and Olivia finishing up kindergarten next week, had to flashback to their first day last fall!

Friday was my day off! Little beats my Friday off, let me tell you that! Christian was off to work, I got up pretty early and showered myself. Then, finally, got the big girls up and ready to go. As soon as Eliza woke up, we were off to drop the big girls off at daycare. We made our way back home, had some breakfast, and finished getting ready for the day. Shortly after, we were on our way back to daycare for Amelia’s Pre-K graduation ceremony. Oh.My.Gosh – it’s official, she’s graduated Pre-K, and she’s ready for kindergarten!! How can this possibly be?! How can my little best friend be ready to hit kindergarten already?! This is just too crazy. I was pretty much an emotional mess, and had to work REAL hard to keep it in check. It didn’t help that her sweet teacher was crying before the ceremony even started. Seriously, we may pay an arm and a leg for daycare, but I KNOW they are being well cared for, by people who really, truly love and care about them. After the ceremony, we took some pictures, had some cake and hung out for a little while, before Eliza and I headed back home. She took a nice LONG nap, so I had plenty of time to edit pictures, catch up on some shows and relax the day away. It was a rainy gloomy day, so really the perfect day for it. I started cooking a turkey roast in the oven in the afternoon…later leaving to pick the big girls up, only to arrive home to the oven giving off some kind of alarm. The turkey container was burning and the oven was shooting off some kind of error. I looked it up in the manual, and nothing it was telling me to do was working…I couldn’t stop the alarm, turn the oven off, nothing. Finally, I pulled it out from the wall and unplugged it. SERIOUSLY, I cannot take anymore…the oven/stove, the dishwasher is falling apart, the dryer barely dries and breaks down all the time, we need a shed SO bad, the driveway needs some repair work done. It’s just neverending, and I seriously, honestly want to cry. I HATE, HATE, HATE owning a home. Every piece of it, I hate it. I wish so badly I could go back in time and stop us from ever doing it. I’ve been trying so hard to sell all of this stuff we don’t need anymore, mainly baby stuff, but people are so rude and frustrating. Ay!

It's Here - Pre-K Graduation Day! Wow, growing so fast!

Eliza, jamming out all night long! Love this girl.

Saturday was pretty busy, as usual. Christian was off to work for the day. The girls and I were off to swim class, bright and early. I can’t take much more of these 9:00AM classes! Unfortunately, I’ll have to, because I wanted too long to enroll them for the next session, and all that was left were the 9:00AM classes. Good Lord, nobody to blame but myself! Olivia got to practice some diving today, and Amelia is doing much better at listening and actually trying to swim, rather than just play around. So that’s great!! After class, we made a quick target run, made our way home for some lunch, and Eliza went down for a nap. After work, Christian and his friend Lorenzo came by with some new couches! My in-laws decided they needed to downgrade their (fairly new) furniture, so they gave us their current couches! Our couches were getting old, and one had a rip in the cushion…and we were going to need some new ones soon, so this was perfect timing. We’re going to try to sell ours – I mean, there has to be some college kid or newly moved out on their own person that just needs some temporary furniture out there! But, if we can’t sell it, I think Lorenzo is going to take them for his basement. For now, Christian has been kicked out of the garage. Some other exciting news, I caught somebody on the garage sale site looking for a glider/stool for their nursery, so we quick cleaned ours (that we never use) and sold it to them! YAY! I think I’ve talked about it before, but Christian gets all of these random things from work...from chairs, to music playing beach umbrella, to pool rafts, to folding bars. I mean, everything. They get all of this promotional gear from the different liquor companies, and it must just all go into some kind of freebie closet. Anyway, today he brought home this cool windmill for the garden…however, it took those two HOURS to put it together…so, they spent most of the evening doing that, while I played with the girls. We did bubbles, played in their jeep, rode bikes and just ran around having fun. Olivia actually rode her bike, all on her own too! We took her training wheels off to start working on it, and I couldn’t believe she actually did it after just a few minutes of working with her. She’s going to be full on riding on her own soon!!! So cool! On top of that, Eliza is walking better and better every day. So many exciting things! Finally, we all settled into the house, had some dinner, gave the girls bath, and were off to bed, one by one.

Keeping Baby Distracted at Swim Class

Sister Play Time

Sunday was a busy day around the house. We all actually slept in a tad…well, after Eliza woke up, and I brought her into bed with me anyway. I didn’t get a ton of sleep after that, because I was so nervous she’d fall out of the bed, but I at least got to rest. I spent most of the day doing laundry…lots and lots of laundry. But folding, oh folding, that’s always the challenge. I made our target run, loading up on groceries and household goods. The girls played really well together today, which isn’t usually the case. They spent most of the day in the basement, dressing up and actually playing with their toys for a change. Eliza has another tooth poking through, which might just explain her increased crabbiness lately! Teething, the worst! Christian grilled us a late dinner, and while busy around the house, we had a pretty quiet day. I’ve seen people searching for baby monitors lately on the garage sale sites, so we quick gathered up ours, and we’re going to get it ready to sell. We have a video monitor, and there’s a screw loose on the video piece, so it won’t rotate all the way around. If I can get that fixed, that will be one more good sale on tap! Slowly but surely, we’ll pay for all of this stuff we need!

Dress Up Fun!!

Trying to Do Laundry...she makes it very difficult!

Until Next Week! XOXO
