6/9/12

Well, today was the most painful morning yet! My back and arm still hurt, my neck hurt again AND I had a raging migraine to top it off. It was rough – hard to do anything, even get out of bed. What next?!?

It was really hot out today, so after breakfast we filled up the pool and got the sprinkler going for a while. The girls had a blast running around and playing in the water. Once we were all sweaty, watered down and tired, we ate some lunch, and naps commenced…for everybody. Christian passed out as soon as the girls went down. I took some medicine and propped myself up on the couch, in a very awkward position. Strangely enough, it seemed to really help my neck and back. Unfortunately, it only made my headache worse.

We had plans to go out for my birthday tonight. Though we weren’t sure if we actually would or not, Christian still brought the girls over to his parents, just in case. I took some more medicine, we showered and got ready, and I started feeling a little better. SO, I sucked it up, and off we went.

We went out to the Mall of America to celebrate. First up, mini golf. Christian won a free game last time we played, so we used that up. I ended up kicking his butt, which felt great (he'll probably claim he let me win - but I won't let him).

Next up, we went to Hooters for dinner. I know, classy. BUT, at the movie last night we received a coupon for a free appetizer from there, so I couldn’t pass that up. Finally, we stopped to Freeziac for some frozen yogurt. YUM!

Finally, our big date night was over. We picked up the girls, and sent them right off to bed. Our friends Nate and Gini stopped over to catch up and have a bonfire. It was really nice to spend time with them. Definitely stayed up WAY past my bedtime though!

6/8/12

Today was a pretty good day. Started off with my Friday weigh in…down another 1.2lbs, for a total of 26.8. Go me!

Next up, off to work. I was still in quite a bit of pain today. It’s moved down from my neck, more in my back and down my left arm. I kept getting spasms throughout the day. I think that I must have pinched a nerve or something. Lame. Hopefully it passes soon so I can get back to working out! I did make it through the work day today though. My friends at work took me out to lunch, to a Mexican restaurant in the area. YUM! The day just flew by, so this was a nice, quick week!

After work, I picked up the girls and made my way home. The pain had really gotten to me, so I changed into my jammies, and Christian took the girls over to his parents’ house so I could lay on the heating pad and rest for a while. It was definitely much needed. I actually ended up using that time to write my Matron of Honor speech for the wedding next weekend. I think I have it pretty much ready to go – just a few tweaks needed over the next week, but overall, I think it’s ready. I’m excited!

Once the rest of the house arrived home, the girls went right to bed, and Christian and I watched a movie before passing out. We watched “Gone”. It was a little slow, but actually pretty good. Christian fell asleep – seriously, I thought I was the old one!

Today, after work, the girls snuggled up with me on the couch until Christian got home to take them. They were so concerned about me, it was so sweet. Not the best picture, but the best I could get with two wiggly toddlers rolling around...

6/7/12

Well, this morning I woke up with HORRIBLE neck pain, and a headache to boot. I’m really hoping I slept weird last night and I’ll be back to normal tomorrow. I wasn’t able to workout because of it, and I was finally back on a roll with my 30-Day Shred Program! Bummed out!

I did make it into work. I took some asprin, which actually took care of my headache, but no such luck with the neck pain.

I mentioned before the woman doing the dress alterations for my BFF’s wedding works in my building. Well, she finished my dress this week, and brought it in, so I was able to pick that up. My co-workers insisted that I try it on and model it for them, so I figured, why not? Pretty goofy, but whatever. They all LOVED the dress and thought it looked great, so that was a mood booster. And, it seems like it’s actually a little big still. Hopefully it won’t be TOO loose, but I was kind of excited for it to be big still.

I left work a little early so I could renew my divers license, stop into Target for a few necessities, pick up a prescription and eat an early dinner.  I picked the girls up from school a little early, and dropped them off at my mom’s. Christian and I were going out for a bit tonight, and she watches them tomorrow, so she offered to just keep them over night tonight for us. YAY!

Christian quickly got ready after work, and we were on our way out. Tonight we checked out a screening of “That’s My Boy”…the new Adam Sandler movie coming out next week.  Adam Sandler is always kind of hit or miss for me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But, it was actually REALLY good. I laughed through almost the whole thing. He did have a really stupid voice through the whole thing – which was annoying and kind of took away from the movie a bit, but other than that, the story was funny and it was entertaining. Fun!

After the movie, I was exhausted and my neck was still in a lot of pain, so I called it a night right away. Pretty lame end to date night, but what can you do?!?

Today I got a shot of the sky, full of big, fluffy, beautiful clouds. It's so peaceful...

6/6/12

Today was a pretty low key day. Nothing too exciting. Work was work, the usual.

My mother in law ended up inviting us over for dinner tonight, so we took her up on it. She made the girls some soup, and us some quesadillas. YUM. We chatted, played with the girls and watched some TV.

That’s really about it.  Not only low key, but no bedtime headaches tonight. JOY!

Here is a snap of Amelia tonight – ugh, so darn cute with her goofy smile!

6/5/12

Today was another quick day at work. Busy, Busy! Christian has been adapting well to his new job, and seems pretty comfortable with it. He said they’ve been getting a lot of new clients, so they are going to just keep getting busier and busier. Both of us super busy at work – definitely good news!

Christian actually had to work a little late, so after work, I picked up the girls up. I let the dog out when I arrived home, like usual, except he’s apparently been working on digging a new little hole under the fence, and sure enough, he escaped tonight. Christian went around the neighborhood a couple times when he got home, while I gave the girls their dinner, but couldn’t fine him. After dinner, I was out on the deck, and saw a couple dogs on the block behind us, and a rollerblader with a dog go by, and clearly the dog wanted to chase something. I just KNEW Chuy was over there. So, I took off in the truck, and went to check it out. Sure enough, a couple women, with their own dogs, were sitting there in a yard with Chuy, who was just hanging out like it was no big deal. Dumb dog. There’s not much point in having a fence when your dog is small enough to get under it anyway!

Finally, we were all home and settled in. The girls took their baths, and it was time to see what we were in store for tonight. And, again, same thing. The girls were goofing around, going crazy, again. I’d had enough this time though, and did some yelling. I hate yelling at them, especially as bedtime. But enough was enough. Surprisingly, they actually listened to me, and went to sleep shortly after. Hopefully this new trend will end now.

Tonight, after the dog chaos, and before the bedtime chaos, the girls were playing with some of the baby dolls. Really, Amelia was, so Olivia had to as well. Tonight they were obsessed with changing the babies’ diapers. They kept putting the babies on the potty to “practice”, then diapering them. It was pretty cute…

6/4/12

Well, today I decided to be a nice daughter in law. After the girls’ super late night last night, I knew they were going to be crabby and exhausted today. With my mother in law’s broken ankle, I knew she was going to have a hard time watching them period, but it would just be that much harder with them being crabby from the get go. So, I got up, got ready for work, and just let the girls sleep until they woke up on their own. They finally woke up around 8:00, I got them dressed, dropped them off and headed to work.

The day at work ended up going pretty fast. Playing a little catch up, and with my in-box filling up quickly again lately, I’m back to being crazy busy again! Works for me though.

This evening was pretty much a repeat of last night…dinner, baths, bed and girls up too late again. Amelia tricked us, again. We attempted to let them talk it out and pass out again, but it didn’t happen early enough. We’re NOT having another late morning tomorrow, so I finally took Olivia out of their room, and brought into our bed with me until she fell asleep. Amelia finally passed out, and once Olivia was asleep, I moved her back into her bed. This BETTER not be a new trend!

Tonight I snapped a picture of Amelia with her new baby doll. So cute, yet such a troublemaker!

6/3/12

Today was a pretty lame day. I had big plans of heading to Grand Old Day today with the family…parade, some bad fad, some kiddie park fun. But, I was pretty tired, and Christian didn’t seem to motivated to get up and going, so we decided to pass on it. I was pretty bummed, and the day was pretty darn boring as a result, but we survived. The girls swam in the backyard for a while, we played in the playroom for a bit, breakfast/lunch/naps. The usual.

After naps, we decided to go out for dinner, and get out of the house for a bit. We stopped into the Mexican restaurant down the street from us, and boy was it YUMMY!

After dinner, we decided to stop into Target and splurge on the girls a little. We never really buy them toys, dress-up stuff, or anything fun like that. We take them out and about quite a bit, and occasionally surprise them with a goody, but it’s pretty rare that they actually get toys and stuff like that from us. We just don’t like to spoil them in that way – and we know that their interest in whatever we buy them will fade soon enough. We just felt in a spoiling mood today though. So, we let each of the girls pick out a new toy. Olivia ended up picking a princess microphone. It plays a couple princess theme songs, and you can talk/sing into it. She was in love with it! Amelia, of course, picked out a new baby doll. That girl and he dolls, she just love them to pieces!

Finally, we were back home. We watered the plants, took baths, and headed to bed. Or, so we thought. I put Amelia down, like normal. She talked to herself for a bit, like normal. After it was quiet for a while, we put Olivia down, like normal. To our surprise, Amelia was actually still awake though. Just laying there, hanging out. Of course, that never goes well. The girls ended up goofing around, talking, laughing and acting up until 10:30!!!!! When Amelia finally passed out. Ugh – I hate nights like this!

Here is a picture of Christian and the daddy’s girl at dinner…

6/2/12

Bachelorette Party day is finally here!! I’ve been looking forward to spending the day with my BFF for so long now, and it was such a fun day!

Of course, the girls had me up bright and early. We had some breakfast and hung out for a while, I did a little cleaning around the house, and started packing up all of my stuff for the day/night. Christian was on toddler duty all day today – of course that meant afternoon/dinner/etc. at his parents’ house, but whatever!

I picked up Kari around lunch time, and we were off on our adventure. First up, lunch at LeAnn Chin, enjoying the BEAUTIFUL weather on the patio.

Next up, we stopped into the salon for Kari’s hair and make-up trial. She had a few runs at the hair. We’ll be doing air brush make up, but the air brush wasn’t working quite right, so it didn’t turn out perfect – but she still looked beautiful!

Following that, we headed back to Kari’s house to get changed, get ready and head out to the Bachelorette Party. First, we stopped into Dick’s Last Resort at the Mall of America for dinner. It’s a place where the wait staff are supposed to be kind of rude, joke around and give you a hard time. I have to say, the food wasn’t the best (and, fairly overpriced), but the atmosphere was pretty fun, and everybody seemed to have a pretty good time.

After dinner, we were off to the House of Comedy for a show. I booked our party a couple weeks ago so we got a nice discount, Kari’s admission was free, and we got special seating at the show, so that was all pretty good news! The show was pretty good. The featured comic was REALLY funny, I laughed through just about his whole set. Good times!

A lot of the party goers left after the show, and the rest of us stopped into Cantina #1 for a couple drinks before ending the night.

All in all, it was a pretty fun night. Lots of laughs and a good time had by all. Much more low key that the partying of our younger days, but just as fun! By the time I arrived home, Christian was already passed out for the night, so I did a little channel surfing, and wasn’t far behind! He’s just as old and boring I guess.

6/1/12

Friday! More importantly, Friday off!!! Nice.

The day started well…I lost 1 pound this week, for a total of 25.6 lost to date. YAY! Very happy with that number. Everything kind of went downhill from there. I was exhausted. The girls were crabby, fighting with each other non-stop and not listening. Which made me crabby and super frustrated with them. I finally got them dressed and took them off to Hyland Park for a while. I didn’t really want to “reward” them for their bad behavior, BUT, they needed to burn off some energy, and I knew that would do the trick. Olivia was ALL over the park…up the ropes, down the slides, climbing everywhere. She had the time of her life! Amelia still can’t do a ton – but, they are almost done building their new play area – which I more like a regular playground, and I know she’ll like that when it’s done. She still had fun wandering and people watching though. I picked up some lunch on our way home, and the girls took a nice long nap.

Our evening was pretty low key. We had dinner as soon as Christian arrived home, played with the girls for a while, then it was time for baths and bed. Christian’s friend from work stopped over for a couple beers, and I was in bed fairly early. Tomorrow is my BFF’s bachelorette party, so it will be a long day/evening. Definitely need my rest!

Here are a few pics from the park this morning…

5/31/12

OY! Today was a pretty long day. The girls were exhausted this morning, and Amelia would not cooperate. She was throwing a fit, flailing herself around like crazy, refusing to get dressed or put her ponies in. Christian finally had to leave for work, so I had to take over and deal with the chaos. I finally got them ready, loaded in the car, and dropped off at school. Then, arrived quite late for work. Awesome. I had a raging migraine by the time I got settled in at work, which didn’t go away until the second dose of aspirin was in my system. LONG MORNING!

On the bright side, I lost 3 pounds in my biggest loser weigh in today! YIPPIE!!! In two weeks we have our FINAL weigh in. I need to lose 1.5 to make my 12 week goal. Not only will I get the satisfaction of making my goal, but I’ll win $5.00 too! And, our final incentive is winning $2.00 for every pound lost. So, it’s time to get to work!

A couple weeks ago I was at walmart, and they had a bunch of jammies on sale for $1.00 a piece – total steal. I bought some for Olivia, with the intention of saving them for next fall/winter…but, I’m behind on laundry, so I had to open up a pair tonight for her. OMG was she excited…
