23 Months Old. Amelia is 23 Months Old. That is ONE MONTH away from being 2. I cannot believe it. These past two years have flown by, it's so crazy. There is no greater blessing than watching these little beings growing into their own persons.

Amelia is growing so fast. Just in the past few months, probably with a lot of help from school, she's learning by leaps and bounds. She talks...I mean REALLY talks. Like conversation style. This morning, I got them changed and dressed for school. Their jammies were draped over the edge of the bed, and she pointed at Olivia's and asked "Are those mine?". I said "No, those are sissy's". She responded "Oh, where did mine go". I'm not adding words in or anything, that's exactly what she said. I couldn't believe it. Even her teacher mentioned it to me last Friday, how much she talks now. She repeats almost everything you say to her, which is great. Definitely helps her learn. She is quite a firecracker too. She has such a vibrant personality, and doesn't let ANYBODY get away with ANYTHING. She definitely stands up for herself, I don't think we'll ever have to worry about that!

She's still small. She's still wearing her 12-18 month clothes. I tried moving her up, but everything is just too big still. I weighed her yesterday, and she was about 23lbs still. When we were in the dells, she was right at the 32" mark to get on the rides, so that should still be pretty accurate. My little peanut!

In other events, today was a pretty low key day. Work was busy, and Christian had to work late today. I picked up the girls, started dinner and we ate once he was home. After dinner, he took to he yard and got the grass cut before tomorrow's heat up. I got the living room and the bedrooms picked up a little, and it was bedtime before we knew it! My how time flies!

Here is Amelia's 23 month photo. My cheesy ham. Love her to pieces!

Monday. Definitely comes too soon!!!

I was a busy bee with work all week. This week is my Friday off, so I really can't complain. I'll be busy all week, and it's a short week, so you really can't ask for more!

Christian called me in the afternoon...turns out his friends boss gave him tickets to tonights Twins game, and invited Christian along with him. So, it was just me and the girls tonight. It was a rough start...lots of fighting and not sharing and screaming and driving mom nuts going on. But, once we settled in for dinner, things started looking up. The girls relaxed a little, we played together and had a good time. Bed time came pretty quickly, and that was that. Another day down!

I discovered a new photo app on my phone today, and payed around with it a little big. It's not super impressive, but had some fun features.

Today was an amazing day!

We were up early, had a quick breakfast, packed up our stuff, and were on our way for today's adventures, nice and early. Today we were meeting out friends Kelly and Jack, and their kids, for a day of strawberry picking and beach fun. So, off to White Bear Lake we went.

First up, strawberry picking. We'd never done it before, so we were really exciting. We got our box, hopped on the tractor, were escorted to our section of the field, and got to work. The girls had such a blast, they thought it was so cool. The strawberries were AMAZING, super delicious, and really cheap too. It was really cheap, low key, family fun...outdoors, taking in new experiences. Nothing better. I've also been trying my hands at photo editing. Definitely not professional by any means, but I think I'm getting better....

Once we were good and sweaty, and all strawberried out, we were on our way. Next stop, the BEACH. We had a picnic together, changed the kids into their swimsuits, and hit the water. The girls were in heaven, having the time of their lives. Running, swimming, dunking their heads, digging in the sand. It felt so great to be in the water. There weren't a ton of people, which was really surprising, so it was peaceful and just a great time. So glad we made this day happen!

The water and sun and fun had the girls beyond exhausted. They fell asleep on the way home, and went down for naps once we were home. We finally had to wake them up around 5:30, and Christian took them over to his parents house. They invited us over for some grilling, but I wanted to get started on some laundry, and rest a little bit. Which, is just what I did. The girls went to bed as soon as they arrived home, and Christian and I weren't far behind. This was a beyond amazing weekend, perfect!

Today was a wonderful day. One of the days I look forward to ALL year long.

It started off pretty standard. Breakfast, I finally washed the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen, then time for showers, baths and getting ready.

Then, greatness commenced. Today was Game Day. Every summer my dad's family gets together at my grandparents' house for Game Day. We have a croquet tournament (it amazes me how few people know how to play croquet!), have all kinds of outdoor games for people to play, horribly unhealthy snacks to devour, and water fun for the kids. It's just a day for all of us to spend together, outside, catching up and having a great time. The girls had so much fun playing with the other kids, and it was a great day with the family. To top it off, I ended up winning the tournament this year :) It came down to me and my dad, and I won! Yes, go me!

The girls didn't take a nap today, and were EXHAUSTED from their busy day of fun...they passed out before we even got to the highway, and went straight to bed when we arrived home. Christian and I were pretty exhausted ourselves, and have another busy day tomorrow, so we decided to take it easy tonight. He passed out on the couch shortly after we arrived home, and I wasn't too far behind.

GREAT DAY, and here are some pictures to prove it!

My grandparents have always had a wooden swing in the backyard. Everybody LOVES that swing. We got a picture of all of the great-grandkids on it today, and I knew I had seen a similar picture before...I went digging through their photo albums, and sure enough, found one of me and my cousins. The two youngest weren't born yet (though, there may be one with them in it that I couldn't find), but I thought it was pretty cool. Carrying on tradition, warms my heart. Love my family, and love that we get to spend this time together.
