4/11/12

Not too much to report on today. Work was work, just the usual. Christian is going to Mexico next week to visit his family...his friend from work is going with them, so they went to do some shopping tonight. Luckily for me, the girls were perfect angels. They were playing together ALL NIGHT LONG, like they just loved each other to pieces. It's always so amazing to see them actually playing together and getting along. Makes life so much easier.

Here is a picture of my little ham tonight...

4/10/12

The girls seem to be doing much better. YAY!!! Olivia hasn't had anymore signs of a fever, and is back to her usual self. Amelia seemed pretty good...it was obvious her mouth was bothering her though. They did sleep all night long, not a single peep, though - which hasn't happened in a LONG time. It was amazing!

Today, Amelia didn't cry when I dropped her off at school. She's cried every day but once since they started there....so it was definitely different. I hate that she does it - even though I know she stops as soon as I leave, it's still hard. Today her actual teacher was there when I dropped them off, so that helped. She just ran right over to her like it was nothing. I was actually pretty upset because she didn't even give me a hug and kiss goodbye! Ugh - just can't win! LOL

The day actually went pretty fast. Things at work were pretty busy - I've been making a conscious effort to stay up on everything - including the crappy paperwork I usually just let sit around until it piles up WAY too high. Feels good to be busy, but not swamped.

After work I ran to the store. Christian and the girls ended up going to his mom's for dinner, so that gave me some time to shop and put everything away. I was pretty exhausted and my head was pounding, so I ate dinner and considered skipping my daily workout. I got a couple loads of laundry done, folded and put away, just in time to get the girls to bed. At the last minute I decided to head downstairs and get my workout in. I knew I would have been really upset with myself if I didn't. I was really proud of myself!

Today we got the girls' school pictures back - they are SUPER cute...

4/9/12

Well, it wasn't as bad of a night as I expected. Amelia slept really well. When we finally got a second dose of Motrin in Olivia last night, and got the fan going to keep her cooled off, she actually slept pretty well too. Just a couple cries during the night, and I was able to get her right back to sleep. I think minus the random toddler kicks here and there I would've gotten some good sleep too! LOL. I woke up this morning, showered and started getting ready, only to have Amelia wake up crying and screaming. She wouldn't let me put her down, so I decided to just lay on the couch with her, and go in to work when they were both up instead of waking them. Amelia's canine teeth are just about all the way in, and she's already started cutting her 2nd molars. At least we'll finally be done pretty soon!

Work went by pretty fast...going in late helps, but I also ended up leaving early too. I had intentions of doing a little cleaning, making our shopping list and heading to the store and getting my workout in before everybody else got home. Well, by the time I finished doing a little cleaning, it was too late to shop and workout...so, shopping was crossed off the list. I was NOT going to miss my workout. I did that and started dinner...the fam got home, we ate and just relaxed the rest of the night. Olivia seemed to be doing much better. Amelia was pretty crabby today - she developed some kind of rash on her arms, legs and back - I think it's from teething, because I remember her and Olivia having a similar rash before, so hopefully it's nothing more serious.

Tonight we cracked open Amelia's bath crayons from the Easter bunny and they had a grand time. Amelia insists on coloring on the bathtub floor though, LOL.

HAPPY EASTER!

We had a pretty good day over here. The girls were of course up bright and early. Olivia found both of the Easter baskets right away - the bunny will have to be more clever on his hiding spot next year! After digging through their baskets and playing with their goodies for a while, we got dressed and headed out to the backyard for the big egg hunt. Olivia wasn't as into it this year as the past couple...she was complaining that her belly hurt and was pretty quiet. Amelia however was ALL ABOUT the egg hunt. She was so funny looking for those dang eggs...it was so cute.

It was a little chilly out, so we didn't spend too much time outside. We had some breakfast and spent the rest of the morning hanging out and relaxing. We put the girls down for an early nap because his parents decided they wanted to have Easter dinner at 2:00 (come on, it's just them and us - seems like it would have been easy enough to work around nap time...). While they napped, Christian and I got ready, and we were on our way as soon as they woke up.

By this point, Olivia was still complaining that she didn't feel good, and she was burning up. By the time we got to his parents house, she has a 102 fever. So, another mysterious, out of the blue fever. I don't get where they keep coming from! She wasn't even interested in the Easter basket they had for her - you KNOW she doesn't feel good if she's not into presents! Luckily for my diet, they had a low key dinner this year. Just ham, scalloped potatoes and veggies. Amelia was still pretty tired, so she went down for another little nap after dinner. Olivia and I laid on the couch together. I was hot just being next to her! Poor thing.

After some resting, we were on our way home. Really hoping Olivia feels better in the morning. Bracing for a LONG night. I ended up having Olivia sleep in bed with me so I could keep an eye on her, and Amelia could get some sleep. Fingers crossed we ALL get some sleep!

Here are some pics from our Easter. Hope everybody had an amazing day!

4/7/12

Today was a pretty busy day. I was battling a touch of a migraine all day. Lovely caffeine withdrawls! I stood strong though, and made it through the entire day. Other than the Excedrin of course! The girls were up pretty early this morning, but Olivia climbed into Amelia's crib and they hung out in there for a while, so at least we weren't actually up and at em' so early. I finally got them out of bed around 8:00 and we hung out for a little while. They picked up right where they left off yesterday...bugging each other and driving each other crazy. We were pretty low on the food front, so I took Olivia with me on a quick grocery run. She was perfect as can be when we were out and about, and Amelia was nice and calm at home with Christian. Put them together, and they are madness!

When we got home, Christian made breakfast while I put everything away. Then, it was time to get to work. Cleaning, of course. Today's task was getting the upstairs in order so we can finally start getting the basement back together. So, I worked on the dishes, cleaning/sweeping the kitchen and general cleaning up all over. Christian fixed our broken vacuum cleaner and vacuumed the upstairs. He also took a few loads of stuff downstairs...the girls like to randomly bring stuff up from the basement, little by little, until it starts taking over and we banish it all back to the dungeon.

Finally it was time for a late lunch, and naps. We were going to start on the basement, but my migraine was getting the best of me, so we just rested and hung out with each other. A rarity. Olivia didn't take a long nap. She and I are still battling some pretty nasty coughs, and hers was keeping her up, so she joined us on the couch. Once Amelia was up, I started dinner (for Christian to finish), and was finally off to do my workout. My headache was still getting the better of me, but I fought through it and made it through. It actually seemed to help make me feel better, oddly enough.

Then, dinner time! Amelia made a mess of herself, so they went right into the bath after dinner, and we just spent the rest of the evening hanging out. Once the girls were in bed, Christian was off to hang out with a friend from work for a while, and I snuggled on into bed. Of course, not before playing the role of Easter Bunny...I packed up the girls' Easter baskets and hid them. Olivia is SO excited for the Eater Bunny to come - I see an early morning in our near future :) Christian will be taking to the yard bright and early to hide the eggs around the yard. I'm excited, Olivia will be TOTALLY into the egg hunt this year, and Amelia should be starting to understand. Can't wait!

With the chaos of today, I didn't take any pictures. I put together this little collage of Easter Bunny pics though. Can't believe this is our 4th Easter as parents! It seems like just yesterday Olivia was born! Saying time flies is definitely and understatement.

4/6/12

Today was kind of a rough day. I started off the morning with my weekly weigh in. I ended up gaining 0.8lbs this week. While it's not much, it's upsetting. I work SO hard, my workouts, making sure I get a variety of work in, watching what I eat. I've been content with my weight loss today, but not happy. I feel like I should be so much further along than I am. In the end, I know I need to just keep pushing forward, and I could have gained for a variety of reasons, but it's still frustrating. I am going to try to cut out my Diet Dew. I've been working on cutting out my chip addiction, and doing pretty well, so hopefully I can be successful at both!

The girls were pretty out of control this morning. They just big each other, non-stop. It gets really old, really fast. I did manage to get them to eat a nice breakfast and play together for a while, and we spent some time down the street at the park to let off some steam. Of course, they are perfect angels at the park, playing together like they're best friends. Guess we should have went there earlier...

By the time we got home, it was time for a quick lunch and naps. I decided to just relax and catch up on some shows, clear my mind a little bit. Christian arrived home shortly after they girls woke up, with Thai Food for dinner. YUM!!

We had another little bonfire after dinner. It was a little windy tonight though, so it was a little too smoky for the girls. They went off to bed, and I wasn't far behind them. Another exciting Friday night for us!

Here are some pictures from our trip to the park :)

4/5/12

Another pretty boring day for us. It was my Friday at work, which is always a welcomed event. I managed to stay on top of my work for an entire work - no chaos, no headaches, no stress! Nice change of pace! The girls made it through a full week of school - so illnesses, no doctor appointments, no calls from the director. SUPER NICE!

Olivia was throwing a fit, wanting to go over to "Grandma Coro's" tonight, so Christian stopped over there for dinner with them. Gave me plenty of time to workout and eat some dinner myself. We spent some time hanging out and playing some more princess when they got home. They were attached at the hip all night, including a little slumber party on the couch with their favorite guys :)

After giving them their baths and sending them off to bed, I settled in for night myself. Caught up on a few shows and relaxed. Tomorrow is my weekly weigh in, and I'm not feeling too hot about it. I've had a "heavy" feeling all week that I can't shake. I guess we'll see in the morning!

4/4/12

Today I don't have a ton to report on. Life has been pretty standard lately. Christian's work still hasn't held the interviews for that job he's been preparing for. He said it's supposed to happen at some point this week. He's really excited about it, but he doesn't sound very optimistic. I guess he found out there are interviewing a few guys from outside of the company, in addition to him and one of the guys from the night crew. He things one of them is going to end up getting it. I guess there are also rumor that the "higher up" guy that will be conducting the interviews and making the final decision is pretty racist, and never chooses a minority over a "white guy". From the things they've done over the years, and the stories Christian has told me, this wouldn't surprise me. It's sad though, and I feel so bad for him. He takes so much pride in his job, and is probably the most accountable guy there...it's sad that he doesn't get what he deserves from all of his efforts and hard work.

I ended up picking up the girls today because he had to work late. When I pulled up, Olivia's class was outside playing. She was standing in the middle of the park, all my herself, looking kind of sad and lonely. As I looked around, most of the kids there were older, I'm guessing most of her class, and her friends, were already gone for the day. When she spotted me, she came running over to the fence so excited to see me. Love that girl!

I went into the center to get them and all of their stuff. The director stopped me and we chatted for a few minutes. She said Olivia is doing so great, and she and a few of the other girls are inseparable. I told her she always talks about a few girls, Jayla, Bella and Caroline. She say "yup, that's them. They're always together". She has her own little clique at school....and so it begins! LOL. Today they all planted a little plant to bring home. We'll be adding that to the little flower pot they colored the other day, which just started sprouting some leaves. It's so fun to see all of the goodies she brings home from school :)

When we went back to get Amelia, she and another little boy were standing there having a very serious "conversation". I don't know why, but it just cracked me up.

Christian met us as soon as we got home. He made some dinner and fed the girls while I got my workout in. We ended up having a quick little fire with the girls. Olivia is suddenly obsessed with bonfires and won't stop talking about them, so we figured, why not?!? Here are a couple pics...

4/3/12

Today was an OK day. We had our first biggest loser weigh-in at work. I was a little disappointed in my 2 week progress, I think it was 2.4lbs down. I'm going to guess that a 2.4lb loss is not going to have me in the winner's ring for this weeks incentive! Hopefully I can pick things up a little bit. I've been managing to keep on top of my work lately, which is a nice change of pace. Let's see how long it lasts!

After dinner I was off to meet the BFF for dinner. Of course, at Khan's. Where else?!? The food was delicious, as usual. It definitely didn't sit too well though. It's overall not THAT bad for you, but of course the cooking oil doesn't do it any favors. My body definitely doesn't enjoy that kind of food like it used to, that's for sure! While I was off catching up with the BFF, Christian and the girls had dinner at his mom's. Of course - that really shouldn't surprise anyone!

We spent a little time hanging out together before baths and bed. I found a pair of Princess boots for Olivia on super clearance a few weeks ago. They are big on her now, but I couldn't pass up the sale. The girls got into them tonight, and Amelia thought it was HILARIOUS wearing them around the house. They were cracking me up...

4/2/12

Today was pretty much your run of the mill Monday. Work was pretty busy. I spent the day catching up on all of the tasks and paperwork I put off for as long as possible. So, obviously a pretty exciting day. LOL.

My workout tonight was a pretty long one, so Christian hung out at his mom's when he went to pick them up so I could get that done and start dinner. By the time we ate dinner and cleaned up, we didn't have much time left to play. Just enough for the girls to play princes for a while...as you can see, Amelia attempted to dress herself, resulting in a backwards dress, missing an arm, but heck, she can pull it off.
